Literature Text
Die now, because I love you
Die now, just to live
Die now, or die a thousand deaths
at the hands of those you love
Die now, or die the painful deaths
of anger, hate and blood
Die now, and let me weep today
Die now, or we will grieve away
the remainder of your life
Die now, and you can save the day
Die now, and rest in peace
Die now, just to live
Die now, or die a thousand deaths
at the hands of those you love
Die now, or die the painful deaths
of anger, hate and blood
Die now, and let me weep today
Die now, or we will grieve away
the remainder of your life
Die now, and you can save the day
Die now, and rest in peace
This poem did not reflect my mood at time of writing, but perhaps foretells of the space into which I am going.
When I started writing this poem, I had no idea it would be like this. It was not written about her, but when I read, I think of an almost-innocent girl I know and the life she (and thousands of others) are heading into. Typographers note: continuation lines should be indented to start at the same point as the second part of the previous lines (after “die now,”).
