OK, so university's about to start. That means choosing courses. I am doing maths and computer science, and probably physics. I'm also tutoring the first-year Python programming course, for people who already know Java, which I took last year. This year's project is a Capture-the-flag game.

Font-related stuff: at the beginning of the vac I started writing a font-manipulation toolkit in Python, and I have written several utilities using it, including a small-cap generator (given two weights of the same font, it creates small caps for both). I am now awaiting the release of Python scripting in FontForge, to avoid duplication of effort.

I am also working on Satinwood Bold. Why haven't you seen Satinwood Regular yet? I am in a bit of a dilemma about releasing my fonts on dA. I don't mind putting photos and writing up, because the purpose of those is to be read/viewed. The purpose of fonts, however, is to be used, and I'm not sure how I feel about people using my creations on their documents without acknowledging me in any way. I also feel that I have a certain amount of talent in this field, and that my fonts have some value. If I put a picture in my gallery, I could still exhibit and sell it later. If I put a font in my gallery, I never can.

I am going to try and do some more art. Preferably pictures, since nobody reads my writing. I am inspired by having a picture selected as an Inspirational Photograph by PhotoLust (may I ask who nominated it?).
